About us

St George Potters Group

Is a community-based pottery studio inside the ‘Old St David’s Church’, on the corner Hirst & Edward Streets, Arncliffe.

St George Potters has been established for over 40 years, providing a communal space for professional to beginners to learn and enjoy the art of ceramics in a relaxed and friendly environment.

The studio is well equipped with 3 electric kilns (oxidation, mid-firing, Cone 6), 7 Venco electric pottery wheels, slab roller, pug mill, selection of plaster moulds, selection of studio dipping glazes and large table spaces for handbuilding and shelving for works in progress.

Our teachers are highly qualified, experienced and passionate in ceramics arts and eager to teach and pass on their knowledge to students. They are well versed in handbuilding, wheelthrowing, decoration, glazing and the kiln firing of ceramics.

Classes are held from Monday to Saturday (mornings and evenings).

So, if you would like to learn a new skill or further your skills in ceramics, we’d love to welcome new students and members to join our community.
